The SINFI (National Federated Infrastructure Information System) It began as the a digital register of all networks above and below ground: from telecommunications to electricity, from gas to water and district heating. Established to facilitate the sharing of information and reduce the costs of rolling out high-speed networks, the system often comes up against a complex reality for local authorities. Accessing this data, interpreting its formats and integrating it into day-to-day workflows requires, in fact, appropriate tools that public authorities do not always have at their disposal.

How the GeoPortal-X® extension works

The new module developed by NeMeA bridges precisely this technical gap, transforming the complexity of SINFI into an intuitive interface. Through the platform, local authorities can now:

  • View the data online: view SINFI networks directly in your browser, superimposed on the base map.
  • Querying network elements: Click on routes, nodes, manholes and cable ducts to view their details immediately, in accordance with the national data model.
  • Include the organisation’s details: to integrate SINFI data with the spatial information already managed by the local authority within a single mapping platform.
  • Ensuring interoperability: navigate through the data using OGC standards (WMS/WFS), which ensure seamless integration with other information systems.

In this way, a complex regulatory requirement becomes a day-to-day operational tool: a genuine the “digital twin” of the local networks.
